If you run a side venture alongside your main work, or a handful of separate businesses, each one gets its own organisation rather than sharing a single muddled list.
Step by step
- Create the organisation — Add the new business with its own name and details.
- Set its branding and defaults — Upload its logo, set its business address, its default tax rate and its home currency. These are what appear on the documents that go out under that name.
- Switch between them — Pick the organisation you want from the menu. No logging out, no second account.
- Work inside one at a time — Clients, projects, invoices and contractors you create belong to whichever organisation you are in, which is what keeps the two ventures cleanly apart.
Before you split
Two organisations make sense when the businesses are genuinely separate — different names, different clients, different books. If it is one business with two kinds of work, projects are the better tool for the job.
